We are a community of learners who believe that exploration and curiosity are the best and most exciting paths to knowledge. The Comstock Public Schools Foundation is organized exclusively to benefit the educational, literary, and scientific activities of the Comstock Public Schools, including scholarships to students and grants to teachers through generous donors.
The Foundation is an IRS-registered not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) charitable organization, and all donations are tax-deductible. If you would like to contribute to any existing grant and scholarship funds managed by the Foundation or create a new endowment, please contact the Comstock Public Schools Foundation office by emailing the Foundation at Office@ComstockPSFoundation.net or using the Contact Us form on this website.

Any Comstock Public School staff member may apply for a grant through the Comstock Public Schools Foundation. The maximum amount of the Teacher Mini-Grant will be $250.00 per project.
Grants will be awarded based on the anticipated benefit, primarily for the students and secondarily the staff of the Comstock Public Schools.
The number of students impacted and how they will directly benefit will be of primary importance in evaluating the grant request.
Only one Mini-Grant will be awarded to an individual staff member in any school year.

Established in 1982, the mission of the Comstock Public Schools Foundation is to benefit the educational, literary, and scientific activities of the Comstock Public School District.
Operating as a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization, the Foundation makes it possible for individuals and businesses to contribute to Comstock Public Schools to enhance the educational opportunities for Comstock students and faculty at all grade levels, including college scholarships for graduates.

Dr. Jack Hunt passed away in his home on Sunday, January 9, 2022. Mary Lou Krieger, his high school sweetheart and wife of sixty-nine years was with him on that final day, as were his four children: John (Edita), James (Jan), Mary Katherine, and Thomas (Lisa). Jack Hunt was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan, on August 21, 1930. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1948 then attended Hope College from 1948 to 1952, where he graduated Cum Laude with bachelor’s degrees in biology and Chemistry. Jack attended the University of Michigan Medical School from 1952 to 1956.
Dr. Hunt entered a family practice internship at Borgess Hospital from 1956 to 1958 then joined the medical firm of MacGregor and Hammer in Parchment. In 1960, Dr. Hunt joined the Navy, where he earned the rank of Lieutenant Commander and was stationed in Olathe, Kansas, until 1962. After the Navy, he established the Gove/Hunt private medical practice, where he was joined by his sons, Doctors John and Jim, until 2011. They became affiliated with Bronson Healthcare Midwest/Bronson until 2019.
Dr. Hunt was the team physician for Kalamazoo College, Hillsdale College, and Comstock Public Schools. Jack was a proud grandfather to Kelly (Tomas), Michael, Shelly, Steve, Oliver, Anna (Ronnie), Lewis, Nathan (Alexandra), Alyssa, and his great-grandchildren Madelyn and Logan. Ever humble and loving, Dr. Hunt did not want a funeral or to be eulogized. He said, “They always say good things about you when you’re dead.” His family summed up his life and his commitment to thousands of patients with one word, “LOVE” In his last words, he said, “It’s time to say goodbye. Wow! A family practitioner Doctor for 64 years. To my patients, thank you for letting me be your physician.
